Using the Elements of Design in Art

Click here to read about how the elements of design are used to plan the composition of an artwork.  This article discusses the elements of design in relation to photography.  As you are reading, keep in mind how the elements can apply to all different types of media.  Re-read the section titled "Summary and Conclusion."  On a piece of paper, summarize what the author is trying to say in this section using only three sentences.  Put your response in your folder.




Helpful Tip:
After you have completed to activities in the Principles section, reread the second half of this article.  You might find that some of the information is easier to understand once you have developed more background knowledge about the subject.
